Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters

Ladies and Gentlemen! Step right up for the 17th Annual Taste of the Ozarks event featuring a special kickoff performance by the Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai.

Big Brothers Big Sisters will host this year's event on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the new Glendalough Convention Center starting at 6 p.m. The Vintage Carnival theme will include aerial bartenders and roving entertainers, providing a fantastical diversion as we celebrate the agency’s 35th anniversary. Creative cocktail attire encouraged.

About the Event

Taste of the Ozarks is an annual fundraising event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks. The event features live and silent auctions.

Food will be provided by some of the region’s best restaurants who prepare and serve dishes on site. This year's vendors will include Los Cabos, Houlihan's, Hinode, Fire & Ice, progress, Ocean Zen and B+B Boulangerie.

Those restaurants will vie for the top culinary awards. Award categories include Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, and People’s Choice.

In 2018, BBBSO raised more than $160,000 to support the children we serve. All proceeds from this event help BBBSO carry out our mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Those interested in attending may purchase tickets or become a sponsor at www.tasteoftheozarks.com.

Raffle tickets

Can’t make the event but still want to contribute? In conjunction with the event, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks is offering a $20,000 raffle contest. Only 500 raffle tickets will be sold at $100 each. Winners need not be present to win. Raffle tickets may also be purchased at www.tasteoftheozarks.com.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have a call out for event volunteers — a great way to experience an event for free while helping us cut costs so more is put back into our program. Volunteers can sign up online.

BBBSO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and United Way partner agency that believes that every child can succeed and even thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters supports life changing friendships between professionally screened adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles).

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a system of ongoing evaluation and support, which independent studies prove helps Littles perform better in school, avoid risky behaviors, and grow up to be productive, engaged citizens.
