In response to an increased need for assistance, the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) Greene County Center is hosting a Back to School Fair for elementary age children in Greene County. In partnership with Blades & Shades Salon & Spa, Crosslines, Care to Learn, The Ozarks Literacy Council, Springfield Fire Department, Oxford Health, and Teamsters Local #245, children will receive a backpack, school supplies, a haircut, books, socks, and more.
“OACAC Greene County Center is excited to collaborate with community partners to meet the need in school supply assistance in the Greene County area. OACAC and our partners want all children in the community to start off the school year with enthusiasm and excitement. Fresh school supplies can kick start this enthusiasm and ensures children have what they need to learn as they begin another school year,” said Jennifer Olson, Supervisor of the OACAC Greene County Center.
This fun, free event will be held on Wednesday, August 8 from 11am – 4pm at the Teamsters Local #245 Union Hall, 1850 E. Division in Springfield. Families interested in attending must call the OACAC Greene County Center at (417) 447-0554 to preregister no later than August 3.
