Boy Scout Troop 24 Selling Christmas Trees

Boy Scout Troop 24 is celebrating its 25th year of selling Christmas trees in a unique way. As a way to commemorate the quarter century of selling and to acknowledge strong community support over the years, the Troop will be giving away 25 trees during the holiday season to 25 area non-profit organizations.

A 25th anniversary celebration kicks off Sat., Nov. 25, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The celebration will include local food trucks, a visit from Santa, music and more. Special recognition will be given to the 25 organizations, along with acknowledgement of local businesses who have provided generous donations of equipment to make the tree lot possible. The scout Tree Lot opens at noon on Friday, Nov. 24, and will be selling trees daily until they are sold out. The tree lot is located at the corner of Glenstone & Portland in Springfield. All profits from sales helps fund official scouting activities, troop equipment, and scout learning opportunities.There are 7 varieties of trees to choose from: Fraser Firs; Balsam Firs; Douglas Firs; Con Color Firs; Scotch Pines; White Pines; and Black Hills Spruce. Regular hours are 4:00-8:00 pm Mon-Thurs; 4:00-9:00 pm Friday; 9:00 am – 9:00 pm Saturdays; and 9:00 am – 8:00 pm Sundays.
