Most large public gatherings and fireworks displays have been cancelled and July 4th celebrations will just feel different this year. Many people are wondering if it's still possible to get together with loved ones, practice social distancing, and have a great party! As it is, there are already a lot of considerations that go into planning the perfect party. And this year, there are a few more factors to consider when putting together your July 4th celebration. Planning the menu, seating, activities, and even bathroom visits are more important than ever. I found some wonderful tips in this article from Delish.com. When it comes to food, try and have single serve items that can be grabbed or plated without touching the other food items. Consider using individually wrapped condiments and single serve bags of chips. It should always go without saying, but no double dipping! For shared items like salads or baked beans, designate a healthy host or hostess to serve the food to minimize handling of the utensils by multiple guests. Encourage everyone to bring their own drinks and easily identifiable cups. Have hand sanitizer readily available and designate one bathroom for guests that can be easily wiped down periodically. Keeping all of these things in mind will help you make sure everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!
