It's been a crazy week trying to adapt to a new way of working at home while managing my household, (sort of) parenting my children, and checking in on my friends and family who I miss so much. But I did one thing today that made me feel great. I bought a gift card online from my favorite massage therapist that I can use when this passes and we can all touch each other again! I have something to look forward to (a fabulous massage!) and she has a little extra money in her pocket now while she is unable to work. Many of our local businesses have had to shut their doors. Many of our friends are not working right now. So think about that local business you visit regularly or that friend who suddenly is without a paycheck. Can you support them by buying a gift card to their business to use down the road? Can you show your support by giving THEM a gift card from your favorite local coffee shop or nail salon? A little bit goes a long way. A small gesture from you can make a big impact on someone who is struggling, even if that person struggling is you!
In the meantime, if you are looking for a job, there are a lot of places that are hiring. We've started a list of people who are hiring now. Another great way to give back is to purchase a gift card to a local restaurant or pay them a visit for a Carry Out order. Some will even deliver! Check out our list here.
