Justin Timberlake Does “Hot Ones” (NOTE CONTENT)

Justin Timberlake tested his tolerance for heat in a new installment of “Hot Ones,” and during the segment he opened up about where the idea for the viral SNL hit “D*ck in a Box” came from.

Justin says he and Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, a.k.a.Lonely Island, were struggling to come with something until they had this idea of, "a duo of guys who are still stuck in a time, in a certain style: silk suits, the herringbone chains and meticulously sculpted facial hair,” with Justin realizing he was kinda “describing *NSYNC.”

After that Toconne suggested they base it around “The old popcorn in the movies prank,” with Justin suggesting it was “super creepy,” which Toccone argued would fit perfectly for these type of guys.

Of course, the FCC wouldn’t let them say the word “d*ck” throughout the song so it had to be censored, but Justin is okay with that, noting, “I think the irony of that is, I think the funnier version of that is the bleeped out version.”

  • In the "Hot Ones" episode Justin also discusses the making of “Cry Me A River,” working with Timbaland and The Neptunes, who does the best Timberlake impersonation (Andrew Garfield), meeting Marilyn Manson, and more.
